Starting my diet

Being on a team or having a trainer/coach has great advantages. It takes the pressure off! Yes - I need to be the one to do the hard work; but it makes it easy to just "do what I am told" sometimes!
My Coach Carla of Carla Sanchez and The Performance Ready Team sent me my plan yesterday.
So, after a good solid workout of shoulders...and I am feeling the burn effects today already...my littlest one and I went to the grocery store to get my "goods".
I spent about 1 1/2 hours yesterday afternoon cooking up and prepping food while hanging with her.
In order to succeed in this area, you have got to be prepared. It is so much easier to reach for a meal that's healthy then to grab for snacks. I even measure them out and put them in various sizes of zippy bags. I label everything, cause sometimes in the freezer the fish/ground turkey or ground chicken can all look alike!

I was short on time and got about today and tomorrow's meals set. Normally I aim to do my prep cooking twice a week. I will have to see what's going to fit for my sched as far as that goes.

  1. I will say, that I have not found an more environmentally friendly way to store my precooked measured out meals.
That is something that bothers me with regards to plastic and the environment!!

  2. Anna, I accidentally deleted your comment.
You asked if I cook separately for me and the family.
It depends. For instance, I will cook up chicken, then they can put whatever seasonings on it they want. They will eat my veggies and what not. As you could see by the pictures, I weigh, ration out my portions and baggie them up for the freezer or the fridge the next day.
My hubby has learned to avoid the weighed out portions. I did stop him from eating my broccoli today :) As I mentioned above I had only partial prepared and wanted to be sure I had a little bit to munch on if I got hungry. So, they actually eat a version of my meals most of the time for dinner. Although the kids are still "Fished Out" from my last show in July 2009. And, I am too. For some reason that one meal makes me feel gaggish! And, I am a fish lover. I am going to play around with it and try to make a fish cake by adding and egg white. I will let you know!
    Hope that helps.
