Life Gets In The Way Or Do You Let It Get In The Way?

Really what it all boils down to is that life is busy!

If it's not running to the grocery store, then it's running to the baseball practice or dance lesson or picking up this and going to get that.
You would think it would slow down after school ended - man, I don't know about you, but that last month of school flew by. It was a balancing act of three kids, two different schools and i cannot total the number of thank you gifts to all the teachers who have impacted my childrens' lives this year. I felt so blessed by each of them myself even!!

It was added craziness because I was training for the Mile High in Colorado. That was on the weekend that school ended. So looking back it was hilarious that it all got done.

I tell you Jesus was working OVER TIME in our house!! He gave me the strength to attend two - yes two Mother's Day events in the same day with a half an hour to get me to the next school right on time! And He help me to be selective in the sweet snacks my both my children served me with!

That was fun!!! That month had the children's church choir wrap up performance and party, the end of year Awana Awards and Water Fun night. It had a great evening with Box tickets to watch our Round Rock Express Triple A Baseball Team.

And a weekend at a baseball tournament for my son....They Won!!
I have to share his game winning catch - you can see him holding the ball in the air while his teamates do a pile on. So awesome!!

And so much more. But through it all, with a little planning, I stayed on course with my training and nutrition. It was not easy. I could have given up....just like my sweet little Texas Rangers who coulda given up in 100 degree weather at the ball park...but I didn't. I did the best I could, got it done and made the effort.

I am thankful that I did plug thru our hectic schedule, because, life is busy. It doesn't slow down. There will ALWAYS be SOMETHING. So excuses don't fit into my dictionary!!

Are you wondering about Colorado??

Well, I placed second in my class! I missed first place by 1 point!! So close.... I am not disappointed because I know that God has a plan and has something bigger in store for me. I just hope I can stay the course and patiently wait it out!!
It was a great weekend. Not because I placed second, but because I got a few quick moments with my teammates and time with the SuPeRb PR Woman Carla Sanchez.
Here is a pic after with my teammate Michelle who won Masters Overall, Teale who will be competing with me at Jr. Nationals next week, Baby Sophia (who is wearing the cute little outfit I made her) and my coach Carla Sanchez.

So what was truly the best part of the weekend? It was the exhilarating rush from the airport to the baseball field where my son was in another tournament while I was away. I have to say, I was so conflicted and guilt ridden while I was pursuing my dream...instead of being a part of him living out his.

I made it just in time to watch him and his team in the championship game!! So exciting!! When I got there, they were down by maybe ten runs? I really don't remember, but they held on tight, and evened the score for an overtime battle. In the end, the other team beat us by a run.

We were all pleased. The Pavesi Household came home with two second place trophies! So cute, cause my son said - next time mom, you Have to come home with a first place trophy, cause that means I will too!! How sweet...if he only knew.

Next up is Jr. Nationals. I leave next Thursday bright and early and compete on Friday and Saturday. My son, also has another baseball tournament schedule. So, coming home first would absolutely be amazing...that would mean me winning a PRO Card! I am aiming to place top five. Last year I placed 12th out of 40 girls. Yes, I would love to come home first. I will however give that over to God, as He has laid the plans for me, and I will wait upon Him to reveal them. I pray He reveals them soon!!!

He has worked heartily in my life and I am so excited that he has placed a now dear friend into my life - Melinda Quiroz. Whom I have know for about a year and am getting to know much better. She is a joy!! I am thrilled to find the partner I have needed for a ministry I have been working on and wanting to move forward with. But, I needed a partner - a second half to support and blend my ministry. Last night, in the time that we got to talk and spend together, I found that!! I went over to talk to some makeup artists about "The Fitness/Figure Competitor and what to expect from them. As well as my many experiences with different makeup artists over the years. We had a chance before hand to catch up. Melinda's business is ENGBeauty.Com or Elegance + Grace. Check out the link....ha, ha....its a picture of me from a shoot that she did my makeup for!! How fun!!

So now, like I said - life is busy and I can easily focus on this or that or all...which I will do. But what I won't do is not search hard for that little bit of time for myself to continue training and working towards my fierce hobby of competing. So, what I am wrapping up by saying is - yes, we are all busy. Yes, there may not be much of a down time...but I will not use the excuse of being too busy to not take care of my body!! And, I know it can be done and I encourage you to find that time to make it happen for you...in whatever your fitness goal may be!!

  1. Great post Lori. I pray that both of you bring home your first place this coming weekend. Sometimes we don't know what His plan is for us, but we are just to keep going along as He wants us to. Maybe that is His plan?
