In Sickness And In Health

I am so sorry that I have not been posting. It has been a few weeks.

We as a family spent two weeks dealing with sickness. Let me tell you...it was the nastiest virus we have ever had. It went thru everyone in the family and knocked us to the ground. It hung in and prolonged it's visit with some of us for a week!! Yuck!

As a result of being sick...I missed two weeks in the gym. Well okay - I did manage an hour twice on week two - only because I got sick second out of the five of us.

As you know with having the average American sized family... and being sick - puts you behind on Everything!!
I had clients, appointments and friends to make up on. Not to mention training. I feel behind in my preparation for the Mile High in Colorado. It's just a short month away.

Sickness can throw of a lot when it comes to training, so you really need to bear down and sick with it. I believe it's harder to come back from sickness then be just starting out or recommitting to the gym or your fitness health. Why? You are so worn out inside. My first week back I felt so weak and weary. I thought - I am never going to get through this....this will never feel "right" again.

But, I stuck with it, and going into week two from my "recovery" ha, ha....I am going strong and have recaptured my desire and excitement towards going to the gym.
I am sharing this with you because if you keep going, it will get easier. If you continue to give up, or "lay down beside it" and just go through the motions....it won't make you any better or stronger. So I urge you all to hang in there!!

In sickness and in health.....more news came. I made some much needed dr visits that I had put off over the years. Next week I am getting a colonoscopy and endoscopy. I am not looking forward to "The Cleanse". But, am looking forward to the findings. I have a family history of digestive issues and have had problems all my life.
This will not slow me down. It is simply another part of my journey.

Off to the gym to work on my weak parts!! Have a wonderful weekend!!

  1. Happy to hear you are all feeling better. I am having some serious digestive issues myself and hope I don't have to go as far as the colonoscopy but, will do what is necessary. Hop your workouts are great!
