I have to start off by saying that I did do the Ronnie Coleman Classic. And, I did feel very good about the package I brought to the stage. I did feel like I was the best I could be.
And, I loved my time onstage.
I feel more and more comfortable each time I am up there. I think my posing is getting better, and my body is getting more fine tuned!
I enjoyed the time alone with my hubby too!
With every show, you just don't know what the judges are looking for, or who shows up for that matter. So, each show has to be about yourself. In fact you really just need to compete against yourself!! I know that I say that, but, yes, I too was looking around me when I was backstage.
Then you need to reflect on what worked for you and what did not. Like for instance, this time I really had a hard time with my tan. It was messed up. Now, should that have knocked me out of a top 5? I really don't know. But, I do know I would do it differently the next time I compete away from my team!!
What else happened? Fun of course!! I always have a story from something!
As I went to the restroom for the last time before stepping onstage for the night show, I passed by the Marine's booth. I noticed they were doing a pull up contest. I asked what the record for the day was so far...it was 20.
Humm, I had plenty of time before I needed to get backstage...
So, I waited my turn, and as I stepped up, the lady marine said girls were doing flexed arm hang. I asked if I could do the pull ups instead and she said sure.
I did 21 and stopped. After all, I was there to compete in Figure not a pull up contest!! As a reward for holding the new record, I was given a really nice navy marine t-shirt. As I walked up the aisle toward the stage area I passed my hubby and tossed him the shirt. He looked confused for a moment and I told him I would explain later.
He was very proud of his little wife doing 21 pull ups. I really didn't think much of it, as I know I train hard and push hard in the gym. But I am glad he was proud of my strength!!

Oh I missed that you were knocked out of the top 5. And I have been looking for your May issue of Oxygen, but it hasn't come out up here yet. Next week, I am sure.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 21 pull ups, if you remember, I have never been able to do just one, so I commend you. The last time I tried just one, I pulled all my ab muscles.
Congratulations on the 21 pull-ups! That is totally awesome and inspiring!! I still can't do one, but it is a goal of mine! One day!! I work out at home, but I do have a bar! One day! Thanks for sharing!!!!
